Mary O'Connell
I have never known a life without creating in some form or another. To me it has been my voice, what gives me joy, and a way to communicate the interesting and visual beauty I encounter.
I'm a wanderer, a dreamer, a thinker. I am drawn to the details of things, and I like the mystery of the unknown. Usually my ideas begin from something beautiful in nature, a story that intrigued me, or a place I've visited. I like to work in different media, often choosing acrylics which suits my love of experimentation best.

New England is my home, and where I often discover my subject matter. While rambling in the woods, hiking along the seashore, or enjoying the quaint farms touring backroads on my bicycle, I am often lost in thought hatching up my next project. Painting is an escape to another place, where time slips away, and I am in the world of my creation. It is here I find my purpose, and the satisfaction of my soul.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Art, and contiunally challenge myself learning about different areas that interest me, including mosaics, trompe-l'œil, and metal sculpture. Please get in touch if you have commments or questions about my work, and follow me on Facebook and Instagram, where I regularly update on what I'm working on.
