The area around the Boston Public Garden and the mall on Commonwealth Ave. finds me returning throughout the year as I, and others, find that area of Boston beautiful. When I paint I always have an emphasis on light, whether that be morning or evening sunlight. In the case of this painting, I rely and take liberties with light from the street lamps. "Light is the bringer of beauty" is an adage I refer to often.
This painting is framed in a floater frame as shown. I use water mixable oil paints and have done so for 25 years when water mixable oils first hit the market. They are odor free, clean up with soap and water, and behave similar to traditional oils.
